Pictures of "Ghetto America" I have found on the web that draws up deep feeling and/or emotion of urban life in America. I take no credit in actually taking these pictures. To me it is art. How far are you willing to go to get that shot? Where is the most dangerous place you have been with a camera? post your pictures.

Birmingham, Alabama
Birmingham, Alabama - The deep south, great images. Thank's Rollin!
LEAVE B'HAM OUTTA THIS. YEAH, THERE ARE SOME BAD AREAS, LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE IN AMERICA, BUT B'HAM BY FAR IS NOT A GHETTO. WE HAVE A LOT MORE ROOM TO SPREAD OUT THAN LARGER CITIES. CONFINE THIS BS TO YOUR INDIANAS, AND NEW YORKS AND NEW JERSEYS. WE LIKE OUR HOME
Sorry, cuzo but Birmingham, Alabama has some of the worst crime rates in southern America. Also, if you don't wanna believe that there is a ghetto in B'Ham, then watch some YouTube videos from CharlieBoi313 where he travelled and filmed every ghetto in America. Birmingham happens to be in his video library. It's cool to represent and have pride for your hometown, but being in denial wouldn't change the fact that almost every city and town has a shithole.
Hey Man, Have you ever looked up the definition of the term? It sounds to me like your a bit close minded about life to adhere to this blog. I welcome you however you have to open you eyes and accept certain things that you cannot control. If you think you can, then do something about it! I only see ignorance within your perception of your own city which you live in. You can deny what you deep down know is true all you want and can create a make believe atmosphere for yourself but it is pictures like these that makes some people (possibly you) realize the truth and reality however you quickly deny it and fight back as a form of denial, similar to a drug addict who does what they can to feel the best but they know deep down inside it is not real and avoid the true reality in life to keep themselves in this perfect happy state as long as they can. It is very comical to me that you start attacking Indiana? and then switch to New Jersey and NYC? Every city in America has a section that is considered "the bad part of town". I know this because I have lived in many of them. It is not the town but the people who live there and how their personality relates to people around them (negative or positive) and by your anonymous comment it sounds like you are a negative person and I ask you this........ What makes you different from the "BS" that you know of in the "INDIANAS, AND NEW YORKS AND NEW JERSEYS" ???? I understand you like your home (so do I and I hope most people do) However when are you going to realize, understand and respect other peoples home's? And more when are you going to realize that there are other people that live in the same city as you that are different?
This is a great Blog, please give us some more updates on the good old U.S. of A.
I lived in the U.S. for a while, a few years back, but tried to stay away out of ghetto areas. One time I went into the wrong part of D.C. and had to pay some black dude $100 for him to shine my screen (or else he was going to put a brick through it!)
hey man if uve never been to bham dont say its not ghetto.... its like the 3rd most dangerous city in the world its 88 percent balck and people die here all the time so u can shut up dude.
No matter what "IT" is... Keep it real. No matter where you are, people can and will think what they want. Listen to the sweet sounds and then one day we will see what life is "ALL" about. Persective is a big word that means, wierd and unusual things. Some (HTML) looks better than others. But... I better not lose my job for this little right to comment.
I'm new to this blog, but I like it too. I think that more people in America should be aware there are ghettos in unexpected places. If we stay confined into thinking that a ghetto is only in New York, Chicago, Newark, and Los Angeles there won't be any reason to encourage policy reform in areas that aren't "technically" ghettos. Just because one likes where they live doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. Education is usually the last commodity in areas like this, and law enforcement is first. There is a reason why ghettos have a lack of trees or building reconstruction, public officials elected by its people can't, or don't want to put tax dollars into it. There are still people living there, and they deserve the same amount of recognition as those who live in upper middle class neighborhoods. They deserve the desire for improvement too.
hi. this is probably not what you want to hear, but I just want to ask you to make it clear to everyone that not all parts of the USA are like this! some parts are truly beautiful, spirited, patriotic, etc. I'm not talking about some boring suburbs, or even a crowded NYC street, or middle of nowhere-ville, where all that happens is corn growing. I mean, the fact that it can all exist in one country. The mere fact of the matter, that there are "ghetto" areas, there are suburbs, there are big cities, there are ghettos and suburbs inside these big cities, and inside sometimes the ghetto, there's nice people, nice places, nice schools and great opportunities. Anywayy, I think it's amazing that all that can just blend without a massive problem. We have farmers, storeowners, homeless people, children, adults, teenagers, waiters, bartenders, architects, realestate agents, and soo much more! Please, don't ruin America for yourself just because of some pictures.
Not to dis this site, however. I think it's pretty cool that you're getting pics of the ghettos in America. My recommendation, however, would be to also get pictures of the most beautiful things here too. Even sometimes, however, the things that people don't like, such as graffiti, can be some of the most beautiful we'll ever see, and we may never know the artist or anything because they might not get to make it to big times, because of financial issues, gang problems, etc. And I have to say the 3rd NYC pic reminded me of a candy shop (:
Yeah..lets spend a quarter mill on a building and have a punk kid ( gangmember) paint it for us....thats not art thats a punk with a can of spray paint ....lol..hilarious
there are not only bad things in the ghetto. it has it's good sides too. The big problems with the ghettos are in the past. Shooting around without consequences is something from the 80's.
Oh dear. Those images don't seem to depict areas of ill repute at all. In fact, I'm quite sure it is a pleasant area in which to reside and spend a pleasant afternoon. Do they have acceptable tearooms? I assure you, the mews in which MY abode is presently located, things are quite different indeed. Why, quite recently a harlot was ripped to shreds less than two furlongs away from my halls of residence. The alleyways are full of little ruffians and never-do-wells who will pinch your watch right from your vest pocket and make off in haste. Furthermore, the whores have no teeth. I challenge you all to visit Whitechapel, the ORIGINAL gin-lane lest you be considered weaklings or fowl of the Gallus Domesticus variety.
