Pictures of "Ghetto America" I have found on the web that draws up deep feeling and/or emotion of urban life in America. I take no credit in actually taking these pictures. To me it is art. How far are you willing to go to get that shot? Where is the most dangerous place you have been with a camera? post your pictures.

I am pretty sure at least 3 of the 5 DC shots are of a condemned housing project. They are being replaced by luxury housing. From disastrous for poor people to unattainable by poor people...
Your right James, I was born and raised in DC, they only got a small percentage of the Projects in DC.I'm not sure what part of the city these pictures are from, but it get's worst.(Barry Fram's, Vally Green, Petworth I could go on and on.. On the news they only show the White House area, not knowing the the other side of Penn Ave is projects...

I'm starting a blog and wanted to use one of the photos here on your blog... the photo shows a (black) guy standing in front of a row of houses, with a white factory behind. The subject of this page of my blog is about the inequalities of life for blacks vs whites, and this photo shows in part the disparity I'm looking to bring to the readers' attention.

Blacks are lazy and blame whites for all the problems they have. Many rappers, who many blacks idolize, brag about "previous careers" as drug dealers. Selling drugs is a practice that is very detrimental to a community, and, though it brings in immense profit, is not in any way shape or form a respectable way to make money. So why do they brag about it and why do we idolize them? They chose the easy way out, drug money is easy money! Some might think, "Oh well it was the only way for them to make money for their families..." Thats a load of crap. Gangsters use most of their money for drugs for themselves, cars, rims, guns, and jewelry. Another commonly used black excuse is that the system is corrupt and that white people bring drugs, guns, and liquor into black communities. What brings these things into communities is demand. If white people brought drugs into black communities, why would they spend billions of dollars putting criminals behind bars and prosecuting suspects? If white people wanted to get rid of black people, they wouldn't spend any money fighting against gangs and such, because dumb ass blacks would just wipe themselves out, and we would be left with the blacks that have worked hard. When my ancestors immigrated to this country, long after slavery had been over, from Ireland, they had nothing, and were discriminated against just like blacks. My great great grandfather worked as a tanner in a factory all of his life. My great grandfather was a mailman, and my grandfather was a spy in the C.I.A. My dad is a lawyer and we are well off. See a trend here? Each generation improves in economic status through HARD WORK. Standing on a corner selling drugs is easy work, and it is poisonous to a community.
In other words, shut the fuck up all you dumb ass people who sympathize with blacks. Slavery is over, so get over it. Be happy that your race was improved during slavery by selective reproduction. Fucking dumb ass lazy niggers.
WOW!!!! It's amazing were people mind-set's are, it's just unbelievable, I guess people have too much time on there hand. Oh and by the way Anonymous most of the project's I've seen are trailer park's and I saw maybe one black person there out of all the trailer parks i've been to in the USA...

spew platitudes about good planning and accountability. At the moment we have a world class a.h. as mayor. He
is going to balance the budget by selling off the city's housing stock.
The political atmosphere in this city is cancerous, malignant and getting worse by the day. The wealthy will always fight to preserve their prerogatives.
